A lovely afternoon yesterday with the Craft Collective, Limavady making my Mackintosh Flower Cushion, learning twin needling with fusible bias tape. They were so well prepared they got their cushions finished in the 3 hour workshop!! Great going ladies!! You can see a few colour variations of the same design here. Last week I was invited by the Irish Patchwork society to talk about my repurposing journey though Patchwork. It was a joy and privilege to share with 50 enthusiastic and engaging ladies who were patient with me as I zoom screen shared (for the 1st time) approx 130 photos, covering vintage sheets and embroideries, denim, linen, tweed, wool, selvedges and scraps!! These notebook covers take an A5 size spiral bound notebook, and make great gifts for friends who journal, write poetry, collect recipes or who love writing lists!!! In this tutorial you will learn how to piece the quarter Log Cabin, quilting, adding flaps and the elastic pen holder and button/loop closure. You Will Need:
Exterior: Lots of fabric strips 1.5” – 3” wide & varying lengths
One 9.5” x 14” Heavy Sew-In (or one side fusible) Interfacing*
Elastic hair tie
One 1” x 2” piece of 1” wide elastic
505 Basting Spray*
Flaps: Two 3” x 9.5” fabric*
Two 3” x 9.5” Heavy Sew-In (or one side fusible) Interfacing*
Lining: One 9.5” x 14” fabric*
