Did you know you should replace your needle either

Did you know you should replace your needle either after each long project or 30 hours of sewing? Not sewing with the correct size or type of needle can cause thread breakage, tension issues, puckered seams, needle breakage or damage to your machine. Sometimes you may need several different types of needles within the same project e.g. bag making! Needles are one of the most inexpensive pieces of equipment yet are often the most neglected!! Improve your sewing experience by using the right size and type of needle for your project. Throwback Thursday: 4 years ago this weekend we had another Brit Bee Retreat, in Bedfordshire. Brit bee was formed as a group of 12 quilters from across UK in 2011 via Flickr and still exists today (swipe to see our first meet-up in 2012). We have lost a few members and gained some new ones along the way, but we will always have an everlasting bond. Hi everyone, I've had an influx of new followers

Hi everyone, I've had an influx of new followers the past few months so thought I give a proper intro! I'm Judith, a patchwork and quilting designer/tutor in Belfast, n.Ireland. I've been teaching for over 13 years and live and work 5 minutes from where the Titanic was built! I have 3 grown up daughters, I love watching movies (& going to the cinema, when allowed) and eating ice-cream!! My sewing philosophy is that perfection doesn't exist this side of eternity. I love working with scraps and repurposing textiles like denim, tweed and wool. Top of my bucket list is to spend a sleepy month trailing round the lesser known streets of Florence (eating lots of ice-cream of course!)! The past (covid) year has had a big impact on Just Jude Designs, with no in-person classes since March'20. But we have adapted and built up an online presence in that time, selling fabric, haberdashery, patterns, YouTube tutorials and classes. I also teach live zoom workshops and tutor for @craftymonkies . Thank you for choosing to follow our humble achievements here. Last night I attended @sotakhandmade Malmo Pouch workshop, hosted by @craftymonkies . This was a bit of social playtime for me (there's not been much of that this past year!). It was a lot of fun sewing along with folks from all over the world, enjoying Svetlanas expert tuition and being a student rather than the tutor!!
