Two Saturdays ago I held my Toiletry Travel Bag workshop.

Travel Washbag

The classroom was buzzing as 11 ladies cut, quilted, piped and zippered their way through the workshop!

And despite a few new techniques to overcome, these are the amazing bags they produced!

Aren’t they brilliant!

Well done ladies on your fabulous bags!  Time to start dreaming of new places to visit!

Applique Leaf Workshop Finishes!

Hello everyone!  I hope you’ve been enjoying some glorious sunshine in your part of the world!

We have had several beautiful days here.  Doesn’t a sunny day just lift one’s spirits!!

Time got away from me a bit this week, but don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten to bring you the posts on my Spring into Summer projects.  I will get those posted this week.

In the meantime, I have a few pics to share with you from our Applique workshop yesterday!

8 courageous ladies decided to put their ‘big girl’ pants on and tackle satin stitch applique head on!  And not just satin stitch applique, but ‘appli-quilting’ – combining the techniques of applique and quilting into one step.

Applique Cushion/Wallhanging Workshop April'18

After practising a few leafy shapes, they got stuck into either a Tree Wallhanging, or a leafy cushion.

The sun shone all day, and despite the temperature rising in the room, there was no swearing or major catastrophies!!

Aren’t these beautiful!  We had a definite ‘blue theme’ running through some of the leaves, as well as fresh spring yellows, reds, pinks and purples!

And even a dramatic black and grey variation (the leaves on that one will be linen creams).

Well done everyone! You brought your willingness to learn a new skill, and some fun and banter with it!  Enjoy your new creations!

(The Autumn Tree Wallhanging pattern is available here.)
