Thank you everyone for your feedback yesterday on the binding options for my twin needle workshop sample. The overwhelming majority chose black/white stripes, but I completely respect those whose preference was the DS purple stripe (I love it too which is why I was torn!). Happy to overcome indecision and get this one finished! Welcome to my 2nd IG Designers Collaboration. I'm so excited to be teaming up with @joaverystitch @the_littlest_thistle and @fabricandflowers to spend the month of March making and showcasing a pattern from each designer. First up is @fabricandflowers and Sonia's dramatic Automatica quilt pattern (currently discounted on her website). Now we don't have to make a whole quilt in a week, but we can make a block or 2, and turn them into something fabulous! Sonias pattern includes 2 sizes. I've cut out for a charm square block (swipe left) and loving where it's going!! Did you know you should replace your needle either after each long project or 30 hours of sewing? Not sewing with the correct size or type of needle can cause thread breakage, tension issues, puckered seams, needle breakage or damage to your machine. Sometimes you may need several different types of needles within the same project e.g. bag making! Needles are one of the most inexpensive pieces of equipment yet are often the most neglected!! Improve your sewing experience by using the right size and type of needle for your project. Throwback Thursday: 4 years ago this weekend we had another Brit Bee Retreat, in Bedfordshire. Brit bee was formed as a group of 12 quilters from across UK in 2011 via Flickr and still exists today (swipe to see our first meet-up in 2012). We have lost a few members and gained some new ones along the way, but we will always have an everlasting bond.
