Box-ing Clever!

Boxy Pouches

I've been wanting to make a few boxy pouches for a while now!

I followed this tutorial, which is really clear and easy to follow.  Apart from a few tweaks to the odd seam allowance and sizing (to suit different patchwork options), I stuck to the tutorial and am pleased with the results.

Boxy Pouches

In true scrappy style, I made a 'quilt as you go' pouch, and some donated shot silk 'tumbler' scraps make up this more masculine pouch.

I thought these would make good wash bags, so I lined 2 with Rip-stop wipeable nylon.

Boxy Pouches

This is a versatile pattern, which can easily be adapted to suit your chosen patchwork and function - I'm thinking a wash bag for a guy, a toy caddy for a child, or how about a longer thinner pouch to hold knitting needles!

So get your scraps out and get boxing!
